I now live in Oundle in East Northamptonshire – my job brought me her in 1988. After Ph.D in Chemistry in Edinburgh I worked in the Geology Department for a couple of years before taking a NERC Fellowship with IMER – Institute for Marine Environmental Research - in Plymouth. I then moved to Essex as Principal Scientist of Essex River Division of the AWA – Anglian Water Authority. I gradually progressed through various reorganizations to Laboratory Manager for Essex/Suffolk area of AWA. In 1988 I became Analytical Services Manager for the Anglian Region of National Rivers Authority, followed in 1994 by Operational Manager North (about 48% of England and Wales) for the Environmental Agency Laboratory Service. The 1988 move brought me to the Peterborough (Oundle) area where I have now retired.
