CHARLIE TOWLER – NZ

 

I left Edinburgh in January 1967 to travel to NZ and take up a teaching position at Manawatu College in Foxton.  I stayed there 3 years then decided that secondary school teaching was not my thing and I obtained a position at the NZ Dairy Research Institute in Palmerston North.  Apart from staff development leave during 1990 – 1991, I have lived there ever since and became part of Fonterra that is the largest company in NZ dealing with the marketing of dairy products.  I retired in 2004 but continued to work as a consultant setting up my own company.  I am now fully retired and enjoy the lifestyle.
