1991 RSGB National Field Day and RSGB 21/28MHz Contest

1961 was a very active year for the club. We operated GM3BCD/P in the RSGB National Field Day (CW) in June from a tent pitched in the school grounds in collaboration with the Lothians Radio Society, and in the autumn we took part in the RSGB 21/28MHz DX contest (AM-phone in those days) from the normal club shack using the cubical quad antenna on the school roof. In both contests Tom GM3BCD and John GM3LCP had operating support from two licenced Watsonian amateurs - George Millar GM3UM and J. Fraser Shepherd GM3EGW (from Dunfermline). Art Master, Mr.'Tam' Coull provided a very nice GM3BCD/P plaque for NFD, which all operators and participants signed (see list below). It can be seen on a post beside the operating tent.
We won a certificate for 3rd place in the Multi-Operator section of the 21/28MHz contest. The certificate was signed by Ted Ingram GM6IZ, the (Scottish) President of the RSGB that year. Click on photos for captions.
